KING

In this blog I will discuss a few emotions that Dr. Martin Luthur King made his followers feel during his life as a prophet. He was able to help his people feel dignity and better about themselves by preaching the word of God. Without faith, we have nothing. I believe his preachings were extremely powerful and still is to this day and I believe this because it allowed people to have faith in a better tomorrow. His followers would have rathered walk many miles to their destination than to loose their dignity by giving up their seats to a white man or move to the back of the bus. Words are a form of expression and using our words the right way can touch anyone...like the lyrics in a song. When King spoke, it wasn't only what he said, but how he said it. He was confident that everything would be ok and the tone in his voice allowed his followers to be just as confident.

The Power Of Non-violence

In this blog I will discuss what I was taught by a group of my class mates on the topic of The Power Of Non-Violence taken from the text "A Testament Of Hope" written by Martin Luther King Jr. The main objective of the passage "The Power of Non-Violence" was love. The idea of being non-violent worked because the white man was getting irritated by the black people that were following King's movement because they kept getting up from their "beat downs". The white man realized that being violent didn't seem to be working. They (the Afro-Americans) felt that if they didn't act using violence than maybe the white man would start to become non-violent, too. King felt as though love would over power evil because if God loves everyone than why can't we love everyone, too. Agape is the type of love that states that we should love the person that's doing the deed, but dislike the deed that they do. King's main objective was not to humiliate the white man but to befriend, create understanding and to win their hearts.

REFLECTION ON PROJECT FOR THE BOOK

The project that i have been working on is a short story about my life and how language has effected the way i live today. The final project is posted along with a poem to go with it. The things that i have been through in my life have effected the way i think and react to certain situations at this day and age. My human rights have greatly been affected in both negative and positive ways. I have been abused by family and so called friends both physical and mentally in ways that are unacceptable when it comes to human rights.
